Reading tutoring that meets your child where they are and gives them the tools to move forward with confidence.
Is your child falling behind in reading and starting to lose confidence? Do they avoid books, get easily frustrated, or say things like “I can’t read” or “I’m just not good at this”?
You’ve tried reading more at home, using apps, or relying on school support, but it’s not making a lasting difference. It feels like no one is really getting to the heart of why your child is struggling.
I help kids who are behind in reading build the foundational skills they’ve been missing. With one-on-one support or group learning your child will get the tools and encouragement they need to make progress and feel confident.

I'm so happy with The Bare Necessities Tutor. She was able to specifically pinpoint the gaps in my children's education, and create a personalized lesson plan for each of them. All while keeping me informed of their progress and answering any questions I may have.
We met Cara through a teacher at my daughter’s school. She recommended Cara for tutoring. My daughter was struggling in math and reading. My daughter has been in tutoring for a little over a year and has shown amazing growth from when she first started. She has met the goal she needed to be at for MAP testing along with other goals for second grade. I am so thankful for Cara and the work she has done and continues to do with my daughter!
I was referred to Cara by a very dear friend of mine. My daughter was struggling with multiplication, and the methods I was using were just not working. Once she started working with Cara, I noticed changes almost immediately. She was so very patient and took the time to make sure my daughter got it. Words cannot express just how grateful we are.
I tutor reading for PreK through fifth grade. I also offer tutoring in math and writing.
I use Pencil Spaces for online tutoring to create an interactive and engaging learning environment.
